The Pre-Vinylite Society is a loose network of self-ordained sign enthusiasts and advocates for creative use of urban space. The aim of the Pre-Vinylite Society is to encourage sign painters, sign enthusiasts, artists, writers, business owners, and the general public to be more aware of their aesthetic surroundings and take pride in their neighbourhoods by creating, commissioning, writing about, and appreciating quality signage and public art.
In November 2014 I was invited by The Pre-Vinylite Society to exhibit in a worldwide hand painted Showcard Exhibition which travelled from Massachusetts to Brooklyn New York.
I hand painted two showcards based on the iconic Blues Brothers scene with Aretha Franklin where Jake and Elwood order obscure meals as a code to gain the attention of Matt Guitar Murphy to reunite with the band again.
I'm honoured to have the opportunity to exhibit alongside many practitioners who I truly admire. Mike Meyer, Pierre Tardif, Mark Oatis, the list goes on.
