Identity Design, Branding and Hand Painted Signage for MOOR, one Newcastle East’s finest dining experiences.
Pocket Design were approached by MOOR to design a new presence to the once hard to succeed property that had seen many cafe’s come and go for years. We instantly knew this was a challenge we were yearning for.
Once hearing the story of MOOR, we found a common resemblance with the owners passion for their trade. They were also very interested in hearing about our craft and it didn’t take us long to share their initial brand direction and start designing.
We wanted the new cafe to seem as though it had been there much longer than all of the previous cafe’s that had not succeeded. We provided a unique hand drawn logo design that was later created as a digital form with scanned hand painted brush strokes to reveal an eroded/weathered texture to the design.
Once the logo was complete we created business cards, loyalty cards and editable Meals and Drinks menu’s that were printed on an environmental textured sandstone paper stock.
To keep with the original concept of the logo design, we hand painted the weathered MOOR logo onto two glass doors and an external wall. The weathered texture of the hand painted logo really give the impression that the cafe has been serving meals and cocktails for generations.
Just like the environment, the professional staff and the fresh quality food, MOOR’s new brand presence sits with an acceptingly cool and classic persona that seems to have been with us a very long time.
