Bespoke is an engaging, amusing, irreverent but ultimately thought-provoking look at the rise and rise of the handmade, bespoke, locally produced and artisanal. Presented by Marcus Westbury, the three-part series starts Thursday 3 September at 10pm on ABC Television.
Creative Director of Pocket Design, Brett Piva was invited to be featured in the TV series to speak about Pocket Designs approach to Hand Made Design and Bespoke Hand Painted Signs and Lettering.
After the interview we were asked to contribute to the title sequence for Bespoke. We offered to create something that would not only relate to the series topic but hand make a unique design that could be filmed as a behind the scenes process. We hand painted a design that when created with the brush looked as though it was standing high of the background. Nothing digital or plastic, just hand painted lettering effects were used to create this perception in the titles.
The hand painted design appears in the opening titles with Brett’s behind the scenes processes being featured in the closing credits. It was an absolute pleasure meeting and being interviewed by the crew and then having the opportunity to work along side them.
Bespoke is a very interesting take on Australian makers and is worth the watch.
